Cinema Akil has revealed the launch of the Hong Kong Film Industry Surfing and Sailing Festival, to celebrate film productions from the region. The event will take place from December 9 to December 14. The festival, curated by the Hong Kong Creative office, has been a huge success since its first edition launched in April in the Italian city of Udine, after which it has landed in many notable locations, such as Bali, London, Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong and Copenhagen, as well as Sydney, Singapore, Seoul, Stockholm, Honolulu and Tokyo and Prague, with his next stop being Dubai.
It is expected that Akil Cinema will host the festival in its next stop, as the event’s program will include live dialogue sessions with four Hong Kong filmmakers after they showcase their illustrious works. The event will be attended by distinguished actress Lin Minchen, known for her impressive performances in the two films Table for Psyche and One Second Champion, which are shown at the festival, and the festival will also include a dedicated photography exhibition highlighting the work of four of the world’s most renowned film photography specialists, at Saying Things Studio In association with Gulf Photo Plus, allowing fans of the silver screen to explore Hong Kong’s cinematic creations.

Damian Lee, general manager of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Dubai, confirmed the office’s happiness in supporting the event and introducing Dubai’s big-screen fans to the cinematic works that Hong Kong offers, saying, “We don’t see look forward to showcasing cinematic works that reflect the talents of Hong Kong’s new generation of filmmakers like Sen.” -Hang, Kuba, Ricky and Kieran, who come to Dubai to share their creative experiences in UAE.
