Without a boss since the departure of Eli Bissonnette in the wake of the wave of public denunciations of sexual misconduct, the record company Dare To Care temporarily entrusts its destiny to Jan-Fryderyk Pleszczynski, the former president of 4U2C, a subsidiary of Cirque du Soleil.
Mr. Pleszvzynski, a lawyer by training who chairs the Conseil des arts de Montréal and sits on the board of directors of the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde, will assume the interim presidency and will have the mission of ensuring “the maintenance of the regular activities of the company. and guarantee its employees and artists a healthy and inclusive work environment, ”said Dare To Care in a press release issued at the end of the day on Wednesday.
Dare To Care was plunged into turmoil two weeks ago when an anonymous victim denounced inappropriate sexual behavior by Bernard Adamus, one of the artists represented by the label.
The record company immediately cut ties with Adamus. Accused of having turned a blind eye to the actions of the singer and of having installed a toxic climate in the offices of the company, his co-founder Eli Bissonnette subsequently left the presidency of Dare To Care.
