WATCH – Why Princess Delphine is so candid about her past as Albert II’s “hidden child”

The palace has been made aware of the documentary, and has recently seen the final product. For them, the documentary is a private initiative of the princess. She makes her own choices, it sounds, as she always has. She lived her life without being a princess for 52 years, all the while making her own choices and taking care of her own communication.

She has no official function within the royal family, she does not receive any endowment, and therefore she has more freedom than, for example, Princess Astrid or Prince Laurent.

As soon as the court recognized her, King Philippe received her at home and welcomed her into the family, the palace reports. And has he invited her to official occasions such as the National Day.
