National Premieres & Film Workshops at Cine Club in Universidad Austral de Chile

The Cine Club of the Universidad Austral de Chile opens the second week of November with several national premieres for the Valdivian community.

The programming started this Monday with the national premiere of “Kadima, el tiempo contenado”, written and directed by Álvaro Gauna and Cristian Ortiz.

The film observes the permanent work of Antonio Kadima, who since 1977 has kept alive the Tallersol cultural center, the last countercultural stronghold of the dictatorship, where he archives and safeguards thousands of posters of graphic protest and defense of human rights produced in the country between 1973 and 1990.

The 80-minute documentary is the recent winner of the national call “Network Premieres” 2023 of the Chilean Film Theater Network, a group of independent movie theaters that brings together 17 exhibition spaces between Antofagasta and Coyhaique.

Every Tuesday in November the free sessions of “See-Interpret-Create: Workshop on creating critical texts in cinema” will be held.

The space is an audiovisual mediation laboratory organized by the Network of Cinemas and the Cine Club, and is taught by the filmmaker and academic from the Institute of Linguistics and Literature of the UACh, Margarita Poseck.

This Tuesday, at 7 p.m., will be the second session of this workshop. On that occasion, “Holy Water” by Margarita Poseck will be presented, and the intention is to relate the genre of the short film with other short stories.
