The Ministry of the Interior released a video in which its devices were able to seize the largest shipment of electronic devices smuggled from a country to the Egyptian market, continuing the efforts of the agencies of the Ministry of the Interior to fight crime. in all its forms, notably smuggling crimes to protect the Egyptian economy and strengthen security control over all ports in the country.
And the information received from the National Security Sector, in coordination with the General Department of (Investigations on public funds – Port Police of Cairo), on the intention of an import company to smuggle (25 packages with 200 cartons containing electronic devices) in the country from one of the countries as laboratory reagents, “contrary to the truth”.
By conducting investigations, gathering information and using modern security techniques in monitoring and tracing operations, it was possible to identify the perpetrators, seize the shipment to Cairo Air Port and search it, (23983) cell phones – (5646) smartwatch – 830 Bluetooth headsets – 4409 packages of medical electronic devices, medicines and preparations seized High value cosmetics – 108 kg of “suspected precious metal” artifacts – 7936 electronic hookahs and accessories – a number of electronic cards for advanced medical devices).
After codifying the procedures, three of the defendants were arrested and, in confrontation with them, they confessed to having committed the aforementioned incident. Efforts are intensified to arrest the rest of the defendants. The value of customs duties on these goods is estimated more of 450 million pounds.
