Palestine: 10 worshipers injured by Israeli ‘firing’ in Al-Aqsa Mosque

The Israeli police entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the most important place in Jerusalem (Bait Al-Maqdis), and opened fire, injuring 10 worshipers.

It should be noted that this is the first attack on the Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israel after the peace conflict plan for the Middle East was presented by the US.

According to the report of the Turkish News Agency, the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf Organization said that the Israeli police also arrested 3 people from the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

According to him, the Israeli police fired rubber bullets at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, injuring 10 people.

It should be noted that thousands of Palestinians come exclusively to Al-Aqsa Mosque to offer Friday prayers and reject Israeli rule.

Israel occupied the eastern part of Jerusalem in 1967 during the Middle East War.

Attack and counter attack

On the other hand, Israel has claimed that Hamas attacked Israel with rockets late last night.

According to the foreign news agency ‘AFP’, according to the Israeli police, 3 rockets were fired from the positions of Hamas, but there was no loss of life or property.

Israeli police were quoted as saying that “Israel carried out airstrikes on Hamas positions”.

According to him, “Israel’s defense system shot down one Hamas rocket in the air, but the other two rockets fell in the open field.”

After the US decision, there is fear of increase in violence, UN member

The head of the UN’s Palestinian refugee agency has said that Palestinians are facing a ‘shock’ over the Middle East peace plan.

Besides, he expressed fear of increase in violence.

Christian Sanders, acting head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Middle East (UNRWA), said, “We certainly have serious concerns that the controversial US peace plan for Palestine will result in Clashes and violence will increase’.

He told reporters in Geneva that the U.S. move is extremely troubling for the occupied Palestinian refugees as they continue to live under occupation, blockade and conflict after conflict and crisis after crisis.

“I think many, many Palestinians are in a state of shock and disbelief,” he said.

It should be noted that Christian Sanders is in Geneva these days and has asked for donations for essential services and aid for Palestinian refugees in the Middle East.

America’s peace plan

It should be noted that US President Donald Trump, while announcing the peace plan for the Middle East, said that Jerusalem (Beit al-Maqdis) will remain the ‘undivided capital’ of Israel, while the Palestinians will have their capital in East Jerusalem and half of the West Bank. I will not be shared.

It should be noted that in the peace plan presented by the US, the Israeli settlements in the West Bank were recognized and at the same time a 4-year ban was imposed on the settlement of new settlements in the West Bank.

During a press conference in Washington along with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Donald Trump said that ‘in this way the territory controlled by the Palestinians will be doubled’.

In this plan, the US also allowed Israel to annex the strategically important Jordan Valley, which is 30 percent of the West Bank, while allowing the annexation of other Jewish settlements.

In response to the plan, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas sent a message to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to withdraw from security cooperation under the Oslo Accords.

Mahmoud Abbas has warned the Israeli Prime Minister that Palestine is now free from the implementation of the Oslo Accords.
