The consultant explained that mouth ulcers are sometimes a symptom of oral cancer and also warned of the following signs: Unusual bumps and swellings in the mouth and neck that do not go away Bleeding or numbness of the tongue or lips Unexplained weight loss Difficulty swallowing Red or white patches in the mouth.
