Warm goodbye to González Colunga, a lawyer who “always gave himself to others”

The lawyer, much loved in the city and in the legal environment, died this Friday at the age of 80, leaving his wife, Ana María García, and their four children, Ana, Antonio, Ignacio and José. The priest tried to console them and other relatives, reminding them that the lawyer, because of his sense of justice and “Its great human and Christian values”, would forever leave a good memory in the city where he was born, as well as that his “kind and open” character to others made him an example of “A great testimony of life” that, now, can serve as a “heritage of example to follow” in those who knew him.

“He was a person who always gave himself to others, a man with an exquisite and always accessible treatment, as well as a great jurist. The life of the righteous is in the hands of God; I hope that was the life of Antonio, a blessed one ”, said the religious, who carefully selected readings from the book of Wisdom and the Beatitudes of Saint Matthew, which both refer to people “who defend justice” to frame his office, which kept its capacity reduced.

Recognition of the Spanish Legal Profession

The funeral brought together various figures from the civil and legal field, such as the president of Sporting, Javier Fernández (political family of Colunga); Pedro de Silva, former president of the Principality, and Benigno Villarejo, current dean of the College, among other personalities. Also the president of the General Council of Spanish Lawyers, Victoria Ortega, wanted to dedicate a few words of affection to the deceased a few days after the Council awarded the Gijonian the Cross of Merit. “The feeling is of sadness in all Asturian and Spanish law as a whole”, He recognized this newspaper by phone this Saturday. “He has been an extraordinarily competent person, but it would indicate his capacity for agreement, to seek a solution to conflicts through empathy and respect for others”, he added, and stressed that Colunga “was, above all, a person of kindness, in the best sense of the word, and highly respected.”
