Volunteer at youth foundations suspected of making immoral recordings NOW

A 33-year-old man from the Limburg town of Venray was arrested on Tuesday, because he allegedly forced minors to make immoral recordings. Fifteen declarations have now been filed against the man who was active as a volunteer at two foundations working with minors.

The offender approached the mostly vulnerable minors via WhatsApp and chat programs, blackmailed them and eventually forced them to make immoral photos or videos of themselves. He would also have made recordings of the young people himself. According to the police, criminal investigations show that the suspect has acted professionally.

The majority of the reports come from young people involved in the foundations where the suspect was active as a volunteer. Both foundations and the parents of the young people involved in the foundations are aware of the arrest.

Due to the age of the victims, the police do not want to say whether more reports are expected against the man.

The suspect had already been arrested

The scope of the case became clear after investigating several suspects’ computers, telephones and SIM cards. These were seized when he was arrested in January. The police do not want to say anything about his arrest, only that he was subsequently imposed a restrictive measure. This would reduce the chance of recurrence and guarantee the safety of those involved.

After investigating the devices, the police saw enough reasons to arrest the suspect again. He will be presented later this week.
