Viral Video: Motorbike Rider Volunteer Guarding Ambulance Stopped by Traffic Police in Jakarta

WARTAKOTALIVE.COM, JAKARTA — Viral on social media, a video showing a motorbike rider as a volunteer guarding an ambulance was suddenly stopped by members of the traffic police.

The incident occurred on Jalan HR Rasuna Said, Kuningan, Setiabudi, South Jakarta, on Monday (11/12/2023).

As a result of this incident, the head of an elderly male patient in the ambulance hit the back of the driver’s seat.

The ambulance driver named Fandi had an argument with the police officer to defend his colleague named Putra, a motorbike rider who was about to be ticketed by the police.

Even though he had explained that the motorbike was his team guarding sick patients, the police instead ordered his fellow police officers to record.

Anwar, the owner of the car delivering sick patients, explained that the incident occurred on Monday (11/12/2023) at 07.00 WIB.

“So when I was at the location, my friend didn’t want to give me his STNK, he was still debating. Then finally he was told to go to the Regional Police, I was the driver to continue taking the patients,” he said to WartaKotalive.com, Tuesday (12/12/2023).

According to Anwar, from Putra’s statement, at Polda Metro, AI was questioned by the police officers who stopped him.

Anwar admitted that when he was at Polda Metro his friend was asked whether he was carrying money or not.

Putra answered that he didn’t have any money and finally the police took the ticket and asked for a signature.

From the viral video, the police officer can be seen pointing to the video recorder to record his name and a voice called Sugeng can be heard.

“I refused and didn’t want to sign, but because I kept being forced, my friend finally signed the ticket,” he added.

Video recordings circulating on social media, one of which was uploaded by the account @tanterempong.official.

In the video, the motorcyclist is seen guiding an ambulance carrying a sick person (patient).
