Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin has responded to complaints from prospective trainee doctors about the amount of assistance for living expenses. This was done after it went viral on social media, the salary for trainee doctors for 2023 dropped to IDR 1.1 million.
“We have received a lot of input regarding the cost of living for interns. The government is always open to absorbing the aspirations of doctors because they are our spearhead,” the Health Minister said at a news conference on the Revised Cost of Living Cost Assistance (BBH) for Intern Doctors, Thursday (12/15/2022).
There are six categories of BBH supply which are distinguished by location, namely:
- Restricted Remote Islands and Areas (DTTP): IDR 6,499,575 per month
- Maluku, NTT, Papua areas outside DTTP: IDR 3,999,574 per month
- Kalimantan and Sulawesi outside DTTP: 3,727,034 per month
- Sumatra and NTB outside the provincial capital and DTTP: IDR 3,498,800 per month
- Capital of Sumatra and NTB provinces: IDR 3,241,200 per month
- Java and Bali area: IDR 3,241,200 per month
