After taking a closer look, he said, the viral video was taken during a visit to a durian plantation to listen to the complaints of small durian farmers affected by the MCO.

“Coincidentally, on that day, there was a working visit by Minister Zuraidah Kamaruddin to the district. We feel it is appropriate to give a gift of durians to the minister’s entourage to take home,” said Mohd Rashid.

After the visit of the Minister of Public Housing, the Deputy Speaker of the DPR said that he was then invited to the durian garden to listen to the problems raised by the farmers and discuss what steps would be taken next.

In the garden, he was also invited to taste durian while discussing with the farmers what kind of assistance they could provide, according to the statement.

“I offer my apologies for the confusion that has arisen from the media contacting me asking about my video on the farm and I’ve responded to the question without actually seeing it in the first place.”
