The Quartiers du Monde association, which works for the empowerment and access to women’s rights and in the fight against violence against women, launched a song to promote positive masculinity.
Entitled “Daba o Dima”, this song is intended to be a hymn addressed to men on their role and their involvement in the daily life of the home, the association said in a press release.
During the confinement, several NGOs alerted the national authorities and the media and made the public aware of the extent of violence against women, the statement said, adding that this health crisis had accentuated discrimination and made visible the inequalities that pre-existed and which got worse.
“However, social change was born. It demonstrated a positive facet of Moroccan society: that of the sharing of tasks and responsibilities between women and men within families, “notes the press release, adding that individual and independent actions shared on social networks have proven changing mentalities and men’s commitment to equality.
The association indicates that it in turn undertakes to carry this message against women / men inequalities through this song, explaining that this hymn reminds us that men must take their share of responsibility without judgment and consider their actions as a standard.
“It is essential, today and forever, to seek to improve the well-being, happiness, love, health and safety of all family members, and to reduce the panic linked to the crisis health, discrimination, pressure and violence against women and children ”, it is said.
This song is a promise of the co-responsibility of men within the home, to allow the new generation, to appropriate a new vision of sharing between women and men, notes the same source.
Created by Moroccan artists, with festive rhythms and committed lyrics, this song is available on the link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6065nveaQyc), we know.
