“Villain Chris Strikes Again: Fatal Bombshell in Latest Episode of ‘Thuis'”

The plot around Chris (Danny Timmermans), who was initially thought to be dead but resurrected, has been causing suspense in ‘Thuis’ for weeks. Last season, the drug lord was responsible for the death of Tania (Katrien De Becker) and the kidnapping of inspectors Dieter (Raf Jansen) and Tim (Jeroen Lenaerts) with his daughter Hanna. Because the bad guy was exposed in the season finale, he had to flee at the start of the current season. He went into hiding in Thailand. And he bribed a cop who issued a false – but official-looking – death notice, closing the case for inspectors Tim and Dieter.

Case closed? Not really, because after keeping a low profile for a while, Chris thought it was high time a few weeks ago to return and put things in order. Or as he told the demented Veerle (Karin Tanghe): “To peel an egg with some”. So payback time. In the taxi with Nancy (Ann Pira), he talked about his swan song. A life-threatening swan song, because because he only has a few months to live due to a brain tumor, he has nothing to lose. Chris wants an exit with a bang. Literal.

However, his first act of revenge did not go as planned. The cad wanted to hit Harry by targeting his wife Thilly (Lauren Müller). He cut the brakes on her motorcycle. That attack failed, because Thilly was involved in a traffic accident, but survived the blow. On Friday, Chris sabotaged Tim and Dieter’s police vehicle, because he also wanted to punish those two inspectors for exposing him. This attack also did not go as hoped. After all, the two inspectors who had been summoned took another car by chance. Chief Inspector Patje Berghmans (Gunter Reniers) did take place in the fatal car bomb and was blown up. Agent Maité Santens (Sara Gracia Santacreu), who ran after him, was thrown into the air by the force of the explosion, but seems to survive the assassination attempt. All help comes too late for Patje.

And so there is another dead extra on the credit of Chris. And if the bombing wasn’t enough, the villain has now also lured his arch-rival Harry to a secluded spot. There the two face each other for the first time in a long time. “Finally I see my best friend again,” Chris cynically greeted his ex-business partner. Harry lost heart, because he and the viewer realize that this will be the ultimate confrontation between the two blood brothers. One that may be settled on Monday.

After the publication of the ‘Thuis’ book ‘Bloedbroeders’ by publisher Borgerhoff & Lamberigts, it became known that Stan Van Samang (Harry) will leave ‘Thuis’. A timing was not given, but it could well be that the opening credits will have to be adjusted as early as next week. Although it has not yet been revealed exactly how his character Harry will disappear from the series: with a flight, a funeral or because he flies into prison. About 400 ‘Thuis’ enthusiasts took part in an online poll on the official Insta account of ‘Thuis’ about what Harry/Stan’s exit will look like. Forty percent of them believe that Harry will not survive the confrontation with Chris and die. Thirty percent predict that he will flee abroad and the rest expect Harry to end up in prison. Monday may be the correct answer.
