Vienna shares closing: ATX rises by 0.69 percent | 06/29/20

VIENNA (dpa-AFX) – The Vienna Stock Exchange ended with profits in a volatile trading session on Monday. The leading index ATX rose by 0.69 percent to 2247.80 points and had been weaker in the course of trading.

Before a positive trade opening on Wall Street gave international wind, on the one hand, concerns about a second wave of Corona and, on the other hand, surprisingly positive economic data could not give the stock market barometer a sustainable direction. Investors are currently torn, experts said.

Because recently the number of Covid 19 diseases rose again, especially in the USA. Some states are considering or implementing lockdown measures again to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

On the company side, voestalpine’s share certificates (plus 2.2 percent) came into focus. The steel company, which is suffering as a supplier from the sluggish automotive market, has now further strengthened its rail division – with a purchase in France as well as a new production facility and a stake in China.

UNIQA won 0.7 percent. In order to partially finance the planned acquisition of the AXA business in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia for around one billion euros, the insurance group plans to issue two bonds, a non-subordinate over 600 million euros and a subordinated over 200 million euros.

An analyst’s voice also came into focus at the beginning of the week. The securities experts of the Erste Group cut their target price for the shares of the real estate developer UBM from EUR 56.00 to EUR 40.00, but upgraded their rating from “accumulate” to “buy”. UBM titles went out of the market with a minus of 2.2 percent at EUR 30.80.

With a view to other winners and losers in the prime market segment, price gains in the shares of the Erste Group stood out. As the strongest value in the segment, they went out of trading with a plus of 2.3 percent. At the other end of the price chart, however, Swiss Post securities closed 4.8 percent lower. AMAG declined by 4.9 percent ./sto/ste/APA/jha
