VIDEO. Toulouse student in the street: the intruders would have emptied his apartment to equip their squat

the essential
Since this Thursday morning, Tristan, the student who can no longer enter his apartment, knows more. According to the neighborhood, squatters emptied his house to equip an apartment located just opposite …

But where did Tristan’s personal affairs go? In a video he discovered this Thursday morning, the student on the street since May 15 recognized his television, his glasses and his washing machine. All his belongings were on display in the hallway of his residence. Since May 15, Tristan, who is in a work-study program, can no longer return to his apartment even though he is paying € 540 per month. On his return home after three months of absence, he found himself in front of a closed door. “People broke into my home, and they changed the locks. It is impossible to legally access it, unless you take the risk of finding me in front of a madman”, testifies the 22-year-old man.

They would have emptied his apartment to fit out the one opposite

While chatting with the neighbors, the student made a surprising discovery. From what he was told, with the support of several images, people have entered his home in his absence. “They were squatting in the apartment opposite mine. When these intruders noticed that I was not present, they took the opportunity to rob me. Obviously, all my belongings were transferred from my apartment, to that of opposite. They have equipped their apartment thanks to me, ”he explains, stunned.

Their squat was finally discovered by the owner, during an inventory, a few days before Tristan’s return. According to the inhabitants of this building located on route de Launaguet in Toulouse, she immediately “fired” these people. Then she emptied the apartment, leaving all the furniture in the hallway. “She didn’t know they were mine,” Tristan imagines. Did these squatters then take refuge with him? Difficult to say, since the lock of the young man’s accommodation has been changed. “And all the furniture I bought is gone,” he says bitterly.

The police contact the parents

As revealed by The Dispatch in this Thursday’s edition, Tristan and his family filed a complaint with the police. “But the police had not offered a solution. They wanted me to manage on my own with a locksmith,” says Tristan. This Thursday, an official from the northern police station got in touch with the victim’s father. The process could speed up quickly. “I hope this nightmare will be over soon,” insists the victim.
