VIDEO. The incredible images of the train derailment at Toulouse station

Until this Monday, December 4, 2023, traffic will be severely disrupted on all regional rail traffic, announced the SNCF Occitanie this Tuesday, November 28, 2023 via his X account (ex-Twitter).

In question, the derailment of a construction train which occurred early in the morning of Sunday November 26 within the Matabiau station in Toulouse. Toulouse News was able to obtain the impressive images of the incident.

Significant damage

In the early morning, the sun had not yet risen at the time of the impact. In the video, we can see the train derail and hit installations on the track. The latter participated in the large construction site conducted last weekend on l’axe POLT (Paris-Orléans-Limoges-ToulouseEditor’s note).

Then, in a flash, the catenaries were hit. The power supply is cut off. The train finally stops. The lights eventually go out, plunging the station into darkness.

Traffic disrupted on Toulouse roads

The resulting breakdown seriously disrupted traffic, particularly between Toulouse and Montauban (Tarn-et-Garonne). More generally, several lines are not yet functioning normally. This Monday, the SNCF recommended finding out on its website before taking the train.

The work is expected to last several days, disrupting traffic on Toulouse roads until December 4.

A internal investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of the incident.
