In Jūrmala, the residents of a multi-storey house spent a restless night, because around three o’clock in the yard of the house a car caught fire. People ran with buckets of water to extinguish the vehicle, but it didn’t help much. The accident is currently being investigated by police because there is a suspicion that someone has allowed the vehicle to catch fire.
There is no doubt that the locals have a crime in the yard of the thirty-second house on Tērbatas Street.
People say that the Opel van caught fire at around three o’clock at night and the focus was on the right tire of the vehicle, which raises legitimate concerns that the vehicle was intentionally lit.
“I did not sleep well at night. I was the first to hear some hum and noise. After that it was like a glow, quite powerful. When the tire breaks. I ran to the window of the room, everything was visible to me there. Views, wheel burns. I have a little grandson at home, so I woke up my daughter. I say, Diana, the car is on, but her car was standing next to it, ”says Aivars, an eyewitness to the incident.
People hurried to the burning vehicle. Aivars’ daughter managed to drive his car aside, but the man with buckets of water tried to put out the flames. A call to the rescue service immediately followed. Soon, other neighbors woke up from the explosions and noises, who also took buckets of water to help.
Whether it was intentional burning, the police are currently looking for an answer to this question.
