We all know that the PS5 in Xbox Series X are very powerful consoles, but we have to admit that we still haven’t seen how all that graphics horsepower will be used when you’re gaming.
We’ve seen some exciting looking exclusives like Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and some less impressive ones like Halo Infinite, but neither really showed how the new consoles make the games look better.
Luckily, Bloober Team, the developer of Observer: System Redux, finally showed us what the PS5 and Xbox Series X can do, and it’s very impressive.
In the video below, we see a comparison of what Observer currently looks like on the PS4 and Xbox One, and how the new System Redux version taps into the power of the next-gen consoles.
Bloober Team’s Tomasz Bentkowski shows us every visual improvement that drastically changes the look of the game. Global lighting, volumetric lighting, 4K textures and ray tracing combine to create a truly realistic and immersive world.

The technical improvements show that even a game not originally designed for the PS5 or Xbox Series X can still look spectacular. It shows how new graphics techniques such as ray tracing can have a significant impact on the visual aspects of a game.
Observer: System Redux, which also improves several character models and includes new storylines, will be releasing on PS5 and Xbox Series X this holiday season. We’re still waiting for a definitive release date and price for both next-gen consoles, although we know the Xbox Series X will be released in November 2020.
