PARIS – French astronaut Thomas Pesquet currently on board the
International Space Station (ISS) reports
state of the earth, via
video call with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Pesquet admitted that he felt sad and disappointed when he saw the state of the earth from outer space. He described the earth as ‘damaged and very fragile’ due to climate change even as it was visible at a distance of 400 kilometers.

As reported by RFI Friday (11/5/2021) Pesquet described the situation on earth that was very sad and should not have happened.
“Unfortunately, the condition of the earth is increasingly fragile and damaged. Through the windows on the ISS, we can clearly see the state of the earth is getting worse due to climate change,” he said.
In addition, Pesquet also said, astronauts on the ISS could see the earth ‘burning’ when several forest areas in Canada and California were lit recently.
He said a strong storm also damaged the earth and weather phenomenon increasing faster than expected.
Pesquet is expected to return to Earth in the near future after his six-month mission on the ISS is complete.
