Dominating in the first two days, the United States secured victory in the 2021 edition of the Ryder Cup (19-9)
The suspense didn’t last very long at Whistling Straits. Morikawa finished the job
Winning on the 10 and then the 12, Shane Lowry kept the game alive, coming a length behind his opponent. But Patrick Cantlay placed a last boost with the 14, 15 and finally the 16 falling into his purse to conclude the match (4 & 2). Scottie Scheffler inflicted a similar result on world number 1 Jon Rahm. The American knocked out the Spaniard from the start by dominating the first four holes. Jon Rahm’s reaction to number 5 was just a twist. The two players then surrendered blow for blow from 11 to 15 but it was the American who won (4 & 3). Starting strong, Bryson DeChambeau also did against Sergio Garcia with three of the first five holes in his favor. However the Spaniard did not let himself be defeated, dominating holes 3 and 5. But the power of the American worked wonders on the 7 then the 9. The exchanges of politeness from the 12th to the 15th allowed Bryson DeChambeau to validate their victory (3 & 2), bringing the United States closer to half a point from victory. In an undecided match against Viktor Hovland, it was at the end of hole number 17 that Collin Morikawa brought this decisive point to the American selection even if the European ended up snatching the division of the point. In the end, it is with ten steps ahead that the United States won this 2021 edition (19-9).
