VI trio goes wild on SBS6 fire: ‘John de Mol has let himself be fooled’ | TV

entertainment">Louwerens’ plans to let the TV viewer watch a fireplace for four hours, according to the Talpa director, stem from a ‘sympathetic thought’. “I was a big champion of that,” he says in The Telegraph. “In Scandinavia this was once done for a whole day, I thought it was a fantastic idea. A bit stung by corona. If you can celebrate something together, do it. A bit of slack talk, playing games, fire in the background. Sympathetic, real attention for each other. And no more than that.”

entertainment">When asked what Genee, Gijp and Derksen will say about the fireplace on TV at Christmas, Louwerens answers: “No doubt there will be a very cynical comment, something like ‘that fire is better than the rubbish that SBS6 normally broadcasts’, haha. ”

‘Let’s fool around’

entertainment">The broadcast of Veronica Inside – which makes way for the daily talk show at the beginning of January VI today – starts Monday evening, as expected, with Genee stoking the fire a bit. “We are ready,” the presenter tells his table companions, as he leans back in his chair and a crackling fire appears on the screens. “We’ll turn on the fireplace!”, Derksen agrees.

entertainment">“I have spoken to the director, and there is a deeper thought behind it”, knows The moustache. “First of all, John de Mol is of course heavily overwrought, that he allows himself to be fooled in a meeting with directors who have seen this in Norway.”

The idea behind it

entertainment">Meanwhile, Genee gets up to read Derksen’s biography in the fire to throw. “Let’s see if it burns. It burns well, that fire. Nice man! Another such book flicker, or not?”

entertainment">Derksen: “Just be careful that we don’t trick you into it. Look, there’s an idea behind it. We’re all just sitting on the couch staring at all that nonsense on TV, tonight also a few hundred thousand people at us, so the idea behind it is: take it easy, make time to eat at your leisure with good friends and have a nice game. The director explained that to me. So I say, ‘Marco. I don’t eat, I don’t like games and I have no friends.’ And then I sit for four hours looking at a burning fire, which can also be found on the internet.’

entertainment">Gijs: “YouTube.”

Romantic

entertainment">The idea is ‘almost romantic’, says Derksen, ‘but if you meet all week to have as many viewers as possible, you will scare them away. Nobody takes you seriously anymore.”

entertainment">Van der Gijp especially wants to know: “Who is going to present this? Because I heard that there were still two problems: who is going to present it and how many commercials will get through?” And while Genee names such as Viktor Brand and Rick Brandsteder come to mind, Derksen notes that the remarkable idea ‘will cost the station money’.

entertainment">yaw. “Ah, cheer up, man. Filming a fireplace…”

Dog walking past

entertainment">Louwerens says about this: “Normally we are busy getting people to watch as much TV as possible. We also earn our money with this. For the most part, we let that income run now. We have a little sponsorship from a supermarket chain with a campaign that instinctively connects to the fire. You hear Sky Radio in the background, and every now and then a block is placed on it or a dog walks past.”
