Koen Wauters goes viral on social media with a video from the Dakar Classic. It shows how he and his partner Pascal Feryn are passed by a local driver in a pick-up. Even the news outlets in Saudi Arabia are happy about that.

“In contrast to the regular Dakar that I drove up to 10 years ago, the Classic is a regularity race for older cars in which the participants have to try to approach the imposed speeds as closely as possible”, says Koen Wauters. “When that local car pulled up next to us, we were only allowed to drive an average speed of 90 kilometers per hour. A fantastic sight to see those guests raging next to us so enthusiastically. Also funny that we were viewed millions of times on Instagram and TikTok as a result.”(tica, bpr)
