In Sultangazi, on October 10, 2019, 16-year-old İbrahim D. stabbed his father, Yusuf D., who had been violent to his mother for years and tried to cut his tongue with a knife on the day of the incident.
The trial of İbrahim D., who was arrested after the incident and demanded to be sentenced to imprisonment of up to 18 years, began. İstanbul At the hearing held at the 1st Juvenile Heavy Penal Court, arrested İbrahim D. and his lawyer Burak Temizer were present.

In his defense at the hearing, İbrahim D. stated that he worked at the same place with his father and that they left work together and went home on the day of the incident. Stating that his father left, saying he had a job later, İbrahim D. said, “When I got home, my mother said that my brother was sick and we left the house to go to the hospital. We met my father on the way. We got in the car together. My father was nervous on the road and said ‘go home’. My father came home after us and they started arguing with my mother. My father punched my mother in the head. My mother started crying over this.
The more my mother cried, the more my dad got angry and kept hitting. Meanwhile, my brothers started to cry, and my father grabbed my mother by the throat and threw it to the ground.
My mother seemed to pass out. My father took a knife out of his pocket and said, ‘I’ll cut your tongue if you cry. “While my mother was trying to grab the knife, her hand was cut off”.
“I couldn’t stand when I saw that my mother couldn’t breathe”
Saying that he was trying to calm his father, İbrahim D. said, “My father said, ‘I will kill you too, I will kill you and your brothers, don’t get involved. I withdrew, but this time my father tried to strangle my mother. My mother’s face turned red. When I saw that he could not breathe, I could not stand it and I took the knife my father had left on the seat and stabbed it twice. My father left my mother. Then I got very scared and called my brother. My brother told me he would call the police and I shouldn’t be afraid. My father used to fight with my mother at home all the time. “He would constantly beat me, my brothers and my mother.”
The other son of the deceased, Muhammed D., who was heard as a witness at the hearing, said that his father constantly inflicted violence on them and said, “He broke my arm when I was little. He broke his tooth by beating my mother, threw glass at her feet and cut it ”.

The wife of the deceased, SECOND D., said, “The violence my husband inflicted on me gradually increased. Once he broke my arm, I couldn’t say he broke it because he threatened me with my children.
His children were constantly beating me as well. On the day of the incident, he first hit him and then, with the knife in his hand, he tried to pull my tongue out of my mouth and said, ‘I will cut your tongue’. He brought the knife closer to my mouth, so I covered my mouth with my hand to protect myself, and he cut off my hand. I did not see the moment of the incident, I passed out. “My wife had beaten me 9 years ago when I was pregnant, and my baby was down”.
İbrahim D.’s lawyer Burak Temizer said that legitimate defense took place in the incident and said, “My client stabbed the deceased twice and left him. Although he had the opportunity, he did not continue his action. He is smaller than the deceased in size but is able to stop such an attack with a knife. Therefore, the legitimate form of defense is measured. I demand that my client be released first, considering his clean background and legitimate defense, and if the court is otherwise, the judicial control provisions should be decided ”.
EVACUATION DECISION IN THE FIRST CELLAR
After the defense of the lawyer, the court board announced its interim decision.
Evaluating the current state of evidence, witness statements and the time spent in detention, the court ordered the release of İbrahim D. The hearing was postponed to remedy the deficiencies.

In the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, the incident that took place in Istanbul Sultangazi on 10 October 2019 was described. It was stated in the indictment that the deceased Yusuf D. was the father of the child (SSÇ) İbrahim D. It was stated in the indictment that the deceased Yusuf D. inflicted violence on his wife and attacked her with a knife on the day of the incident, and it was stated that the SSÇ entered the scene at that time and stabbed her with a knife twice. İbrahim D., whose testimony was taken, was stated that his father said to his mother “I will kill you, I will kill all your children” and that he stabbed his father to save his mother. The deceased’s wife and SSÇ’s mother, İkinci D., declared that his wife constantly used violence against him and his children. In the indictment, considering the body measurements of SSÇ İbrahim D., who stabbed his father to death, it was stated that it was difficult to prevent his father who battered his mother with his physical strength. Considering the young age of the suspect, the public prosecutor demanded that he be sentenced to imprisonment of up to 18 years for ‘deliberate killing of an ancestor relative’.
