Sight and Sound magazine, published by the British Film Institute, has held a poll for the best film every ten years since 1952, and this year it has published it for the eighth time. A record number of 1,639 film critics, playwrights, curators, distributors or academics from around the world voted. Out of more than 4,000 films, each of them has chosen ten that he considers the best.
