Venezuela promotes its tourist potential in the Mediterranean Tourism Board in Naples

A delegation from the Ministry of Popular Power for Tourism (Mintur) and Venezolana de Turismo (Venetur SA), representing Minister Alí Padrón, carried out an intense and productive work schedule at the Borsa Mediterránea de Turismo (BMT), one of the main B2B fairs in Europe, which took place in the Italian city of Naples, from March 16 to 18 of this year.

The Vice Minister of International Tourism, Leticia Gómez Hernández, who headed the national representation, expressed the importance attached to this activity by the national government. “President Nicolás Maduro is promoting the development of the country in various sectors, with incentives for new businesses and infrastructures, tourism is one of them. The development of it is linked to the protection of the ecosystem and sustainability. Our strategic geographical position, as the gateway to South America, makes it much easier for us, by virtue of which, following the guidelines of Minister Padrón, we participate in these international fairs promoting the beautiful destinations of Venezuela”.

Since its arrival in the city of Naples, the delegation has displayed a fruitful agenda of meetings aimed at reaching agreements on technological innovations, training programs, commercial exchanges, actions to promote tourism destinations, expansion of air interconnection, among others.

In this context, Gómez Hernández, in the company of the Consul General of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Naples, Esquía Rubín, met with the Tourism and Productive Activities Advisor of the Municipality of Naples, Teresa Armato, who celebrated the Twinning initiative between this Italian city and one from our country.

In the same way, he did it with Andrea Corsini, advisor for Mobility, Transport, Tourism and Commerce of the Emilia Romagna Region, with whom he signed a Memorandum of Understanding that covers cultural, tourist, technological and training issues, as well as the exchange of experiences. , knowledge and good practices between both countries. She also had the opportunity to participate in the session of Italian consuls, where she was invited by its president, Gennaro Famiglieti, to speak about the natural, historical, architectural and cultural tourism potential of our country, endorsing its characteristics as a megadiverse, inclusive country. , peaceful, hospitable and open to the future.

In order to reactivate cruise tourism in the country, he met with representatives of MSC Crucere and with the president of the Central Tyrrhenian Sea Port System Authority, which includes Naples, Salerno and Castellamar, interested in including national ports in their itineraries.

Similarly, the vice minister met with Senator Luigi Nave, member of the Commission for Industry, Commerce and Tourism of Italy, Daniela Santanché, Minister of Tourism of Italy, Angiletto De Negri, founding president of the BMT, Senator Marco Ceninatio, Eugenio Biddri, Commercial Director and Network Development of the Naples Airport, among other personalities. On the final day of the BMT, the Vice Minister of International Tourism together with the members of the national delegation, in an act organized by our consulate in the city of Naples, made a presentation of destinations in Venezuela, as well as the special edition of the Viajes Venetur magazine, dedicated to Italy, an activity in which representatives of the diplomatic missions of Colombia, Croatia, Ecuador, Austria, Senegal, Republic of the Congo were present, as well as directors of the Italian Senate, among others.
