Vegetarian product recalled due to incorrect label warnings – warning to allergy sufferers

Consuming a product for allergy sufferers could have dire consequences due to incorrect labels. The company concerned is now recalling the product.

Töpen – A food manufacturer is now recalling a vegetarian product because of incorrect labels. As the Dennree company announced on Friday, June 9, in Töpen, Bavaria, vegetarian broccoli patties are affected by the recall. The batch “Vegetable patties broccoli, 160 g” with the best before date July 10, 2023 is recalled.

Meanwhile, the Haribo group also has to recall one of its products. Two different packs are affected, one other is meanwhile harmless.

As the company explains on its website, the recall for reasons of preventive consumer protection. According to this, the back label of the spinach vegetable patty was used on individual packs, but the soy allergen contained in it was not declared. As the company further explains, people without this allergy could easily consume the product. However, consumption of the product can lead to an allergic reaction in people with a soy allergy. Affected people should not consume the product and instead bring it back to the point of sale. The purchase amount for the product will be refunded to the retailer.

As the portal Lebensmittelwarning.de reports, the following federal states are affected by the recall: Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Berlin, Bremen, Hesse, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein, Thuringia.

Other companies are also having to recall products

Other companies are also currently recalling products. Due to a possible risk of injury, Alnatura has recalled a veggie spread. Metal fragments could be stuck in the product. Rewe is also currently affected by a recall. A vegan substitute product could contain dangerous metal parts. There is a risk of injury if eaten.
