PSV has taken over Marco van Ginkel from Chelsea on the last day of the transfer market. It is the fourth time in more than four years that the midfielder has moved to Eindhoven.
27-year-old Van Ginkel wants to regain competition rhythm at PSV. In recent years he had to deal with serious knee injuries. His last official match dates from May 6, 2018, as PSV captain against FC Groningen.
Van Ginkel, who became national champion with PSV in 2016 and 2018, extended last summer his contract with Chelsea for a year, until the summer of 2021. During the corona crisis, he worked on his recovery in an empty Stamford Bridge in London.
