Marco van Basten don’t think it’s going to be okay Eden Hazard. The Belgian attacker was sitting during the match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid 90 minutes on the bench in the Spanish Supercup. Van Basten understands Real coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Hazard made a crushing impression in his early years at Lille OSC and Chelsea, but at Real it just won’t work. The attacker has been injured many times and especially keeps the bench warm when he is fit.
“I don’t think it’s a matter of getting things right,” says Van Basten at the desk Ziggo Sports. “I am convinced that if Ancelotti feels and sees that he can be of value, then he will just draft him. I think Hazard’s great period is over.”
Youri Mulder, who, like Van Basten, was present to analyze the match between Barcelona and Real, is disappointed with the decline of ‘beautiful player’ Hazard. “But those ‘beautiful players’ must continue to perform”, Van Basten adds. “And if they don’t deliver for too long, it’s over.”
The match between Barcelona and Real ended in a 2-3 victory for De Koninklijke on Wednesday evening. Federico Valverde scored the winning goal in extra time.
