Basically, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 was scheduled for the first quarter of 2020, but has been postponed for strengthen the project on a technical level. The role-playing game with vampires has made its way, even going so far as to confirm the development of versions PS5 et Xbox Series X, with the goal of being released in late 2020 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
The end of the year is approaching, and the project is unfortunately not ready to materialize. Paradox Interactive and Hardsuit Labs confirm that Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will not be finalized on time, and will be released in 2021 instead. More interestingly, Andy Kipling and Jakob Munthe talk about “Organizational changes” that will improve the quality of the game : should there be any changes internally, on the editing or development side, or on the game itself, and why not its post-launch format and content? Unless the PS4 and Xbox One editions are discontinued in favor of versions next-gen more pushed?
Our goal has always been to deliver the best game possible, to immerse you in a Seattle reinvented by The Dark World, and to provide a worthy successor to the original Bloodlines. Due to the quality and the ambitions we set for ourselves, we made the difficult decision to take more time. This means that our goal of releasing the game in 2020 is no longer tenable. Postponing the launch is one of the changes we’re making to ensure the best possible player experience.
This is not a decision taken lightly nor the first option considered. We will share information in the coming months as the launch timing and other organizational changes that will help us achieve this quality.
We understand that this will be a disappointment for many of you, but we also appreciate the way our ambition is received in many parts of the community. We hope you understand that although it is difficult, this is the right choice.
