Val-d’Oise: 137 more teachers next school year


What school card for the next school year in nursery and elementary schools in Val-d’Oise? The first sketch was drawn on Tuesday during a departmental council of national education (CDEN) devoted to the subject, in full confinement. Health crisis obliges, this important meeting, which usually takes place at the end of February at the beginning of March, had to be delayed in time and to be held by videoconference.

First observation, the increase in staff – repeated for several years – is confirmed once again for September. And this one is substantial. According to projections, schools in the department are expected to accommodate 1,577 more students than last year, or 150,236 children in total.

The Val-d’Oise should thus retain its title, acquired last year, as the first department of the Versailles Academy (Val-d’Oise, Yvelines, Hauts-de-Seine and Essonne) in terms of staffing first degree.

Ten more teachers for rural areas

The 95 is thus allocated 137 posts of teachers of additional schools for next year. Beyond the reception of additional staff, “these significant resources will in particular make it possible to have the resources necessary to implement the effort requested for nursery school, to reach the unprecedented staffing rate of 5.69 teachers for 100 pupils, to specifically reinforce the framing rates in the territories considered as rural and not to close any class without the agreement of the mayor ”, affirms in a press release the Academic Inspectorate of Val-d’Oise.

Ten posts out of the 137 should in fact make up for the non-closure of classes in rural areas, particularly in Vexin.

Efforts for the duplication of classes and educational cities

In addition, for the support of students with disabilities, “the creation of four classes, the opening of 3 reference positions, the creation of a teaching coordinator position and that of a teaching position have been specialized ”.

It is also a matter of continuing to split the classes into priority education networks whose threshold set at 12 until last year will rise to 15 this year in Val-d’Oise.

Thus, out of the 164 class openings scheduled for the start of the new school year, 14 concern split CP, 11 of CE1 and, new this year, 70 large sections of kindergartens in priority in Educational Cities. Three in number in the department, these new devices are located in Garges-lès-Gonesse, Sarcelles and Villiers-le-Bel.
