Coronavirus in Mexico. Olga Sánchez calls to follow directions from López-Gatell

The Secretary of the Interior, Olga Sánchez Cordero, called on the population, without exceptions, to follow the directions of the Undersecretary for Prevention and Health Promotion, Hugo López-Gatell Ramírez, to attend the health emergency by Covid-19.

Through his Twitter account, he explained that López-Gatell is an expert in epidemiology and the authorized and official voice of the entire health sector, so he asked citizens to stay together in the face of the health emergency.

The call is given hours after Javier Alatorre, in the stellar newscast of Aztec TV, asked “to no longer pay attention to the undersecretary of Health”.

The driver’s name as well as the word TV Azteca have become a trend in social networks.

In previous days, the Undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion has been criticized by the Governor of Baja California, Jaime Bonilla, for allegedly not reporting the actual number of coronavirus infections.

Given these comments López-Gatell has assured that he reports the information transmitted by the federal entities and the federal government, as Olga Sánchez Cordero did now, has supported him

Senator asks to revoke Azteca concession

Senator Salomón Jara Cruz (Morena) demanded the withdrawal of the concession to TV Azteca, for inciting the population to disregard the preventive indications of contagion of Coronavirus Covid-19, thereby putting the population’s health at risk.

Vice President of the Senate, Jara Cruz, said in a statement that the editorial line of Televisión Azteca has become an obstacle to safeguarding the life and integrity of the population.

“The television station is misinforming and hindering the strategy to prevent the saturation of health services and putting medical care at risk, not only for those who are infected with coronavirus but for the general population and with it, national security,” warned the senator from Oaxaca.

“I demand @ift_mx to immediately revoke the concession of open television services from the Azteca Uno channel to Televisión Azteca because its content has become an obstacle to safeguard the life and integrity of the population before # COVID19,” he wrote in his account on twitter.
