Vaccine schedule with three doses made official

Yesterday, the Ministry of Public Health established by resolution the third dose as a complete vaccination scheme against Covid-19 in the entire population from 12 years of age and created the Administrative Technical Committee of the Directorate of Access to High-Cost Medicines.

The provision also enables the fourth dose or booster dose to all those over 18 years of age, on a voluntary basis, with priority for those over 50 years of age, health personnel, those with health conditions that make them more vulnerable to complications if infected with the virus.

The decision regarding vaccination is contained in Resolution 0020-22, released by the legal department of the Legal Directorate of the Ministry of Public Health, which establishes a three-dose scheme between 12 and 17 years of age with the times pre-established between one dose and the other.

It indicates that the period to receive the third dose is four months in those between 12 and 17 years of age, to whom the Pfizer vaccine will be applied, and that same time must be waited by those over 10 between the third and fourth doses.

The resolution recommends a fourth dose, as a booster, for people over 18 years of age, which should be applied four months after a third dose, keeping the latter as optional and voluntary.

Likewise, the Ministry of Public Health also issued Resolution 0021-22 that creates the Administrative Technical Committee of the Directorate of Access to High-Cost Medications, as a collegiate and strategic body responsible for coordinating and conducting everything related to the management of said medications. .
