The government of Mexico City reported that this Thursday it concludes its vaccination campaign against COVID-19 in adults.
Vaccination coverage in the capital of the country is 95 percent of people of legal age with a complete scheme (6.7 million people)Eduardo Clark, general director of Digital Government of the Digital Agency for Public Innovation, specified in a press conference.
While, 99.5 percent of adults (7.1 million people) already have at least one doseadded the official.
He said that vaccination will continue in people who are lagging behind (who have not received any dose or have been delayed in the second) and young people who are turning 18 years old.
Clark recalled that vaccination of adults in Mexico City began on February 17, 253 days ago. In that period, 43 macro vaccination centers were installed and 13.4 million vaccines were administered.
Likewise, the general director of Digital Government stressed that with these figures the capital of the country ranks as one of the leading cities in the world in COVID vaccination. “We have not found a city with that coverage,” he said.
