JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Ayahanda Ustadz Khalid Basalamah, KH Zeed Abdullah Basalamah, passed away, Friday (7/8/2020).

Ustadz Khalid said his father died after being exposed Covid-19, so that the management of the body and the funeral follows the health protocol established by the government.

“Our father died on Friday and we know that Friday is a glorious day and one of his priorities if he dies on Friday will be safe from grave slander,” Khalid said in the video.

“Then he also died in the state of Covid, so this is also Insyaallah, the opinion of the scholars is generally martyrdom,” continued Khalid.

Khalid admitted that he really wanted to bury his father at the family funeral. But Khalid cannot violate established health protocols.

Khalid must be sincere. His father was buried in a special cemetery Covid-19 owned by the South Sulawesi provincial government in Macanda, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi.

Even so, on the other hand, there is a sense of gratitude from the health protocol, namely that the body must be buried immediately. According to him it was in accordance with the prophet’s sunnah.
