Users Complain about WhatsApp Bugs That Make Random Crashes on iPhone

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Bug WhatsApp reportedly started causing random crashes on iPhones for some users on Wednesday morning, December 15, 2021. The issue was initially believed to be limited to iOS 15.2, although some affected users later complained on social media that the issue also interfered with usage on earlier versions of iOS.

The complaints that have surfaced indicate that the crash is not exclusive to a particular region as WhatsApp users from different parts of the world are facing the same problem, namely application crashes shortly after being accessed. Some iPhone users have complained about the crash problem via Twitter accounts.

“WhatsApp causes crashes right after they try to open it by tapping on its icon. This restricts them from sending message new or looking at existing ones,” complained one user, Wednesday.

The report also mentions that the WhatsApp beta available via TestFlight is crashing. The bug might be caused due to some problem with the Meta server, not with the iOS app itself. This issue is also impacting some users on WhatsApp Business.

In response to this, WhatsApp Chief Technician Nitin Gupta acknowledged that there was a problem with the damage. He advised affected users to use the app in airplane mode once to mitigate the problem.

WABetaInfo reports that the issue was fixed hours after it was raised online. However, WhatsApp has not officially confirmed whether the issue has been resolved.
