US vloggers are gang raped in Pakistan, sparks public outrage

ISLAMABAD – One person vlogger and activist United States of America (USA) 21 years old raped take turns by two men in Pakistan . The crime sparked outrage from the public, who considered it a “state disgrace”.

The victim, whose identity was protected by police, was sexually assaulted in a hotel room at Dera Ghazi Khan hill station, Fort Monroe, on the night of 17 July 2022.

According to local police officials, the victim was on a tourist visa during his visit to Pakistan and had been living in the country for the past seven months.

“The American girl came to Fort Monroe from Karachi at the invitation of her social media friend Muzmal Sipra, whose house she visited on Sunday in Rajanpur district of Punjab, about 550 kilometers from Lahore,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Dera Ghazi Khan, Anwar Baryar.

The incident came to light after the victim submitted a First Information Report (FIR) at the Border Military Police (BMP) post at Fort Monroe hill station.

FIR stated that the victim had been raped by Muzmal Sipra and Shehzad from Rajanpur on the night of 17 July in a hotel room.

The complainant also said he had received threats from Sipra not to proceed with legal proceedings against them.

BMP registered cases against Sipra, Shehzad and Azan Khosa under Articles 376 and 292b of Pakistan’s Criminal Code.

When this case became international media coverage, the Pakistani public was busy venting their anger on social media.
