US Stunned by Zelensky’s Salvation, Murderers Wander

WASHINGTON – US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said Washington was concerned about the personal safety of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

According to him, the US is helping Zelensky with his security. “President Zelensky’s personal safety is something that concerns us,” Sullivan told the Aspen Security Forum in Colorado.

“This is a leader in wartime, dealing with an enemy in Russia who is ruthless, brutal, and capable of anything,” he said.

“President Zelensky took the precautions you would expect to protect himself,” Sullivan said.

He added that the US was helping to “facilitate” the security of the Ukrainian leader, without elaborating.

The US offered to evacuate Zelensky from Kiev when Russia launched its military operation in Ukraine in February. Zelensky did not accept the offer.

This week, Ukraine’s parliament approved the sacking of Ivan Bakanov, a top official in the state security service (SBU).

Zelensky also removed the heads of SBU departments in five regions of the country. Bakanov was a close associate of Zelensky, and the couple had been working together since the last days of comedy.
