US Stock Market: Fractional Variations in Major Indexes, JPMorgan and UnitedHealth Group Show Positive Performance, Citigroup in Decline, Oil Stocks Down

The major US stock indexes registered fractional variations in the last session of the week.

The Dow Jones gained 0.33% to 34,509 points, while the S&P500 lost 0.1% to 4,505 points. Similar performance for the Nasdaq (-0.18% to 14,114 points).

In fractional increase Jp Morgan (+0.65% to $149.84), after the release of the financial results for the 2nd quarter of 2023; The institution finished the review period with adjusted earnings per share of $4.37, better than analyst consensus. Revenue ($42.4 billion) also beat expectations.

Better performance for UnitedHealth Group (+7,27%).

In red, however, Citigroup (-4% to $45.78). The financial giant ended Q2 2023 with revenues and earnings per share down, but better than analyst consensus.

Oil stocks are down, after the price of crude oil in New York (contract expiring in August 2023) fell below $75.5 a barrel. Chevron and ExxonMobil lost 2.5% and 3.43%, respectively.
