US authorities publish letter written by Walmart shooter

Virginia authorities released a “suicide note” on Friday, in which the killer who killed six people at a Walmart store complains he was harassed at work and asks God for forgiveness.

After being shot Tuesday, Andre Bing, 31, who was the night shift manager at a Walmart store in Chesapeake, Virginia, committed suicide.

The attack came two days before the Thanksgiving holiday and in the wake of a weekend shooting at a gay nightclub in Colorado that left five people dead.

On Friday, authorities in Chesapeake, 150 miles southeast of Washington, DC, issued a note titled a “suicide note” which they said they found on Bing’s phone.

It reads: “Sorry, my God, I let you down. It wasn’t your fault, it was mine. … I was harassed by idiots of low intelligence and lack of wisdom.”

As the letter stated, “I was equally guilty of letting my management team and everyone who loved me down by convincing them that I was normal.”

Peng apologizes for his actions, saying, “I feel sorry for everyone, but I didn’t plan it. I assure things turned out like the devil was leading me.”

He continues, “I wish I could save everyone from myself. God forgive me for what I’m about to do.”

Chesapeake City authorities confirmed Friday that Andre Bing had legally purchased the nine-millimeter pistol used in the shooting the day of the attack.

Six people were killed and four injured when Peng entered a staff toilet around 10pm and opened fire, police said.

It is the second mass shooting in Virginia this month, after three University of Virginia football players were killed and two other students were injured by a classmate after a class trip on Nov. 13.

So far in 2022, the Gun Violence Archive has tracked more than 600 mass shootings in the United States, which is every incident in which four or more people are killed not counting the shooter.
