Up to almost 23 years in prison for ‘misdemeanor’ Djordy Latumahina | Inland

The 31-year-old Amsterdam DJ was shot dead on October 8, 2016 in a parking garage at Koningin Wilhelminaplein in Amsterdam-West. Latumahina’s girlfriend was also hit by bullets and seriously injured. She became permanently disabled. Their 2-year-old child was unharmed.

The murder turned out to be a mistake, according to justice the perpetrators had targeted a criminal, Gino M. The mistake is probably the result of the fact that Latumahina drove a similar car as the intended target. The court extensively denounced the “incomprehensible ruthlessness and unscrupulousness” with which the suspects acted. “A happy young family has been destroyed. The victims didn’t stand a chance.” The suspects “mind human lives”, according to the court, and have shown no remorse. Three of them attended a birthday party that same evening.

In 2018, the court sentenced four men to 30, 26, 18 and 15 years for the murder of Latumahina. Two of them, including one of the gunmen, withdrew their appeal.

Planning an assassination plan

At the time, the court acquitted 38-year-old Tony D., after a 30-year claim. The Public Prosecution Service lodged an appeal against this and has demanded 23 years against him before the court. According to the court, D. was the second shooter. He has now also been convicted of plotting a murder plan that should have been the victim of criminal Naoufal ‘Noffel’ F.. D. was jailed for seven years for that. ‘Noffel’ himself has been sentenced to life in prison for his guiding role in a liquidation in Almere.

When sentencing in the case against D., the court had to take into account the seven years imposed, but also four weeks of detention that D. had undergone in a traffic case. The sentence was therefore 22 years and 11 months.

In the Latumahina case, the Public Prosecution Service had demanded twenty years in prison against the two suspects Wendell R. (50) and Ulrich B. (48). The court followed those requirements.

The suspected client of the murder of which Latumahina became the victim, Noureddine H. (40), was arrested in the Spanish coastal town of Marbella in May last year. He is currently in custody, awaiting trial. A second interim court hearing in his case is scheduled for February 8.
