University of Colorado – Colorado Springs Student Arrested for Double Homicide in Dorm Room

A 25-year-old student at the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs has been arrested for the alleged double homicide of his roommate and a young woman in a dorm room, according to officials.

Arrested for First-Degree Murder

Nicholas Jordan, originally from Detroit, is facing two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of his roommate, Samuel Knopp, and the woman, Celie Rain Montgomery. The tragic incident took place on Friday and the victims were found shot dead in the dorm room.

Arrest Made without Incident

Authorities located Jordan in a vehicle and apprehended him in Colorado Springs without any complications. The Colorado Springs police confirmed his arrest on Monday.

Non-Targeted Attack

The Colorado Springs police have declared that the shootings seem to be “an isolated incident between individuals who were known to one another and not a random attack against the school or other students.”

Fond Memories of Samuel Knopp

Samuel Knopp was a talented musician and well-liked by his peers. One student, Gibson Marable, described Knopp as an “uplifting” person and “probably the best musician on campus.”

University Chancellor’s Statement

“We are in shock as we process this tragic loss of two lives,” said university Chancellor Jennifer Sobanet during a news conference last week. “My heart is broken for the victims.”
