Kiel/Lübeck (dpa/lno). The University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein wants to open its corona test centers in Kiel and Lübeck for the last time on Sunday. The reason is the sharp drop in demand for corona tests, a spokesman said on Friday. In addition, there is no longer any increase in the number of infections.

However, visitors and persons accompanying patients must continue to wear an FFP2 mask or medical mouth and nose protection in the buildings of the clinic. Patients who require a corona test on medical orders will in future be tested on site in the respective clinic.

The university hospital carried out around one million PCR and antigen rapid tests during the corona pandemic. In 60,000 cases the result was positive. Most recently, less than eight people a day had visited the test centers.
