United States: GDP growth revised up to 3.2% in the 3rd quarter

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. economy grew slightly stronger than previously estimated in the third quarter, according to the Commerce Department’s third and latest gross domestic product (GDP) estimate released on Thursday.

US gross domestic product (GDP) increased 3.2% on an annualized basis over the previous three months, revised from the previous estimate of 2.9% growth.

Economists interviewed by Reuters expected on average a confirmation of the latter data.

The increase in the core PCE price index, followed closely by the US Federal Reserve, was revised to 4.7%, instead of 4.6% in the second estimate.
