“Unicamp USA Introduces Affordable and Simple Rooftop Conversion for Kia Carnival”

It’s now the turn of the Kia Carnival to be processed by Unicamp USA. Its conversion solution is surprisingly simple and, all in all, affordable.

In fact, what offers Unicamp USAis to simply install an automated roof extender on the Carnival, which the company calls Pop Tent. However, when stored, this extender is very compact and takes up no more space than a traditional storage compartment. Even its design has been studied so that it can fit well with that of the Carnival.

Once deployed, the Pop Tent allows two adults to stretch out comfortably while increasing the total space in the cabin. The expander can then support a net mass of up to 220 kilograms (485 pounds), the equivalent of two large adults.

The length of the Pop Tent is 2,159 millimeters, while its width is 1,016 millimeters. The Pop Tent, which comes already set up and even equipped with a mattress, is priced at US$16,000. If we compare this price to other conversions of its kind, it is rather honest and reasonable. Unicamp USA prides itself on offering a turnkey service, meaning that it takes care of everything from start to finish of the conversion. The company even offers to program the Pop Tent to the Kia Smart Key so that everything is controlled remotely.

Unicamp USA, however, clarifies that its price of US$16,000 is only a starting lump sum price, as it plans to increase it to $18,000 in the near future. The company also offers the possibility of installing a second bed and a kitchenette in the passenger compartment for an additional US$4,000. The set includes a 2-burner propane stove, drinking water tank, two stainless steel bowls and a large storage compartment.

Obviously, if you are interested in this conversion, remember that this is an American company. You will therefore need to send your Kia Carnival to the company’s headquarters in Nevada to have it modified. An idea of roadtrip?
