Under arrest the subject who smeared excrement on a Hispanic woman who was waiting for the train in the Bronx – NBC New York (47)

Police in New York have arrested a man accused of smearing human feces on the face and hair of a Hispanic woman who was waiting for a train on a Bronx platform last week. The man was identified as 37-year-old Frank Abrokwa.

The crazed subject sneaked up on the 43-year-old victim, who was sitting on a bench on the south platform of the Wakefield-241st Street subway station in the Bronx around 5:15 p.m. on Monday, February 21.

Suddenly, without saying a word, Abrokwa smeared the unsuspecting woman’s face and the back of her head with human feces before fleeing, footage released by police shows. It is unclear if the feces were his.

Abrokwa was arrested Monday on charges of groping, threatening, disorderly conduct and harassment.

Mayor Eric Adams called the incident a “horrible experience for anyone” at an unrelated news conference Monday afternoon.

“Human waste or someone spitting in your face are real signs of mental health issues… and we really need to dig into how we’re dealing with these mental health issues,” the mayor said.

The disgusting incident came amid an uptick in crime on the Big Apple subway. In response to the violence, Adams announced his Subway Security Plan on February 18, to crack down on rule breaking and prevent the homeless from living on trains and in stations.

Adams said teams of community workers and city police began last week surveying the subways to identify mentally ill and homeless people who need to be removed and will work to get them the treatment and housing they need.
