A 5-year-old is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in Brooklyn on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
The incident occurred in East 12th Street & Ave. N in the Midwood neighborhood, about 2: 54 p.m., and the driver of the car, a black Sedan, stayed at the scene, the New York City Police said.

The reason for the accident and who the minor was with were not disclosed. Not if the 49-year-old driver has been charged.
This is a case under investigation.
