How does he spend his free time now? “I read more now than before and I go to my wife’s hand more often. Otherwise I am involved on the phone with my son in the factory if he has a question. Or I go with him when he visits a key customer. ” Son Florian Hoeneß is the managing director of a sausage factory that produces Nuremberg sausages.
Hoeneß himself founded the company in 1985 together with Werner Weiß. At that time, his first supply contract with “Aldi Süd” was the basis for today’s factory. Hoeneß grew up as a butcher’s son in Ulm. But in addition to the family, he is still there for “his” club: “If, for example, a Hasan Salihamidzic or Marko Pesic calls with questions, I’m of course always available.”
