A Ukrainian plane with at least 170 people aboard crashed shortly after take-off at the international airport of the Iranian capital Tehran. According to the Iranian state television there are no survivors.
The Boeing 737 from Ukraine International Airlines is said to have had technical problems, according to the official Iranian news agency IRNA.
Rescue workers have been towed to the disaster site near Tehran Imam Khomeini Airport with large equipment. There they found the device burning violently, and that impedes the rescue. The Iranian state television has reported that there are no survivors.
The plane was en route to the Ukrainian capital Kiev.
