After the impact of the Iranian missile against the Ukrainian plane which took place on January 8th, 19 seconds were spent on board in which the conversations of the pilots can be heard. This was revealed by the Iranian civil aviation agency at the end of the reading, at a specialized company in Paris, of the contents of the two black boxes of the Ukraine International Airlines Boeing 737-800. For the downing of the plane, which killed all 176 people on board, Iran took responsibility, admitting a “human error” linked to the radar system linked to the military anti-aircraft defense of the Guardians of the Revolution.

In those 19 seconds you can hear the three pilots and an instructor via radio trying to regain control of the plane, and the instructor himself explaining how both engines – as it turned out – were still running. Both the voice recorder (CVR), which records the voices in the cockpit, and the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) which transcribes the technical data, stop simultaneously, writes the report of the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization. The black boxes do not contain information on the impact of the second missile, which hit the Ukrainian plane 25 seconds after the first, explains Touraj Dehghani Zanganeh of the Iranian Air Force. Dehghani Zanganeh commended the capabilities demonstrated by the French Flight Safety Investigation Office (BAE) in extracting data from severely damaged black boxes, adding that the data and records were sent to the victims’ countries of origin – States United States, Ukraine, Canada, United Kingdom and Sweden, as well as Iran itself – for possible further analysis. The Iranian exponent urged not to “politicize” the case.

The shooting down of the Ukrainian flight took place the same night as Iran launched some ballistic missiles at American troops in Iraq: a retaliation for thekilling by a US drone of the general of the Pasdaran Qassem Soleimani near Baghdad on January 3.
